Overview
A sacred book/manuscript hidden beneath The Master Bell Tower in Blackwharf. Master Carillon calls it "deadly important" and prophesies it will "someday save the city."
The True MacGuffin
During Blackwharf's fall, the Song—not Master Carillon—was revealed as the real rescue objective. Hidden beneath the most important of the Seven Great Bells, it suggests deep connections to the city's magical defenses and contains knowledge crucial to opposing The Entropy Shepherd.
Master Carillon's Words
- "It's deadly important"
- "It'll save... Someday it'll save the city"
- "What have we done? It better be worth it?" (as they escaped)
Current Status
Now travels with the Fellowship and Master Carillon. The group must protect it while discovering how to unlock its prophetic potential.
Theories
- Sound & Frequency: May contain knowledge about harmonic frequencies, connecting to the bells and "the other frequency" that reverses Amber Preservation
- Anti-Shepherd Weapon: Could hold the key to opposing The Entropy Shepherd
- Timing Dependent: The "someday" emphasis suggests specific conditions must be met
Significance
Represents hope despite Blackwharf's fall. The true power to save the city may have never been in the bells themselves, but in the sacred knowledge they protected.
